The Malappuram Co-Operative Spinning Mills Limited was established in the year 1979 and started commercial production in 1980. Though the mill was started under the co-operative act, the mill is now managed by the Government of Kerala, Industries Department and it comes under the umbrella of TEXFED, where all the co-operative spinning mills are functioning. TEXFED is an apex body of Co-Operative Spinning Mills in Kerala. There are 8 Spinning Mills and Four Integrated Weaving Mills working in Co-Operative Sector is come under this apex body.

The Malappuram Co-Operative Spinning Mills has an installed spindleage of 25560 and installed fourth generation technologically advanced machinery in the mill as a part of NCDC / Government assisted Modernisation project. The Mill is also in the process of implementing 100% modernization in the mill very soon.


Around 400 employees are working in this establishment and manufacturing high quality polyester cotton blended warp yarn. Our products are 56 PC, 60 PC, 67 PC & 72 PC yarns selling at Mumbai, Biwandi & Ichalkaranji market. Out of 1.50 lakhs kg yarn produced per month, about 30% selling to School Uniform project of Government of Kerala.
